Anglesey Milo the star attraction as Welsh Derby returns at Valley

ANGLESEY MILO can show why he is outright favourite for the competition by putting down a statement performance in heat four of the Star Sports Welsh Derby over 460m at Valley (1.12).
Nathan Hunt's dog has kept high-class company throughout the course of the year and improved markedly from heat win to final glory when landing a British Bred competition here in August.
Gothic Joshua is a rival with scope for significant progress from his first look at the track in a trial but the selection should still be too sharp on this occasion.
Steve Howard's Romeo Victor chased home Anglesey Milo in that aforementioned final and can land heat five at 1.29 despite a couple of subsequent odds-on reverses, while Christian Darch's Clongeel Bono can complete a four-timer in the heat six finale at 1.47.
The second heat at 12.38 is a cracker with Dave Hunt's Sawpit Signature taken to follow up last week's impressive victory although runner-up Magical Hawk may get closer with the benefit of that first race at the track under his belt.
Local knowledge could win the day in the opening heat at 12.21 in the shape of Donna Davy's Fastlane George, a 12-times winner at the venue, while Frank Bryce's Lady Divine has the speed to go clear in heat three at 12.54.
Pick of the one-off opens on the Valley card is a 260m sprint at 11.45 which can see Adrian Rawlings' Ashway Blastoff complete a hat-trick.

There is also Sunday morning action at Doncaster where Sue Watson's Mustang Mile appeals in a top grade sprint at 11.21.
Lotus Frank is the strong afternoon fancy at Lifford when David Park's dog takes on A6 rivals over 525 yards at 5.14 with other suggestions at the north-west venue being John McQuillan's False Statement (3.59) and Anthony Taggart's Meenagh Manila (4.37).
There is also a later Sunday Irish meeting at Clonmel where the syndicate-owned Mustang Havoc looks best at 8.16 with earlier picks being David O'Neill's Chamberlain Sean (6.29) and Noel Ryan's Coolbunnia Jim (7.42).
